Mount Fuji, Japan’s tallest mountain, is an active volcano that last erupted in 1707. It stands 3,776.24 meters (12,388.2 feet) tall and is the centerpiece of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. The mountain is about 100 kilometers (60 miles) southwest of Tokyo. Visitors can reach the summit by foot, by bicycle or by car. The ascent by foot takes about six hours and the descent takes about four hours. The waterfalls of Mount Fuji’s Oshino Hakkai village are a popular tourist destination, as is the town of Hakone with its hot springs, museums and view of Mount Fuji. The Five Lakes region surrounding Mount Fuji is also a popular destination for outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, fishing and boating.<\/p>\n

Option 1:<\/p>\n

The Fujikyuko Line is the easiest way to get to Mount Fuji. Take the train from Tokyo to Otsuki Station, then transfer to the Fujikyuko Line. The journey takes around 2 hours in total. Get off at the 5th station, which is the last stop on the line.<\/p>\n
