There are an estimated 200 bodies on Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain. Many of these bodies are visible from the routes most commonly climbed, and they serve as a stark reminder of the risks of mountaineering. Each year, several hundred people attempt to summit Everest, and while the success rate has increased in recent years due to better equipment and training, the dangers of the mountain remain. Avalanches, cold, and altitude sickness all pose a significant threat to climbers, and even the most experienced mountaineers can fall victim to these dangers.<\/p>\n

As of May 2019, there are 207 bodies on Mount Everest that have been identified.<\/p>\n
